Lapse
Time’s the only luxury
It will and never end
A child, I was richer than any man
Whose weight was tripled in gold
You can never mend
The way we spent our seconds, for seasons have amends
Winter forces shelter, we huddled close for heat
And spring is our comeback, we bloom and we greet
In the summer, we glow, and fall, we carry crops
But the clock, doesn’t care, for the weather, when your casket drops
